In a press conference held Friday morning, Counsellor Hazem Badawy, President of the NEA, confirmed that 428 candidates will compete for the individual seats, including 186 independents and 242 party-affiliated candidates.

For the list-based system, a single electoral list—titled The National List for the Sake of Egypt—will run unopposed in each of the designated list-based constituencies.

Badawy also announced that the campaigning period begins today and will last 14 days, concluding at noon on Thursday, 31 July 2025. Following this period, the electoral silence will take effect following the timeline set by the authority.

The NEA urged all candidates to strictly adhere to the campaign regulations outlined in Decision No. 17 of 2025, which governs election advertising and conduct during the campaign period.

The deadline for candidates to withdraw is 20 July.

The period of electoral silence is set to begin on Thursday, 31 July.

Egyptians abroad are scheduled to vote on Friday, 1 August, and Saturday, 2 August.

Voting in Egypt will take place on 4 and 5 August. The final results will be announced on 12 August.
